JOIN US (APPLICATION)

The Society of Arts & Crafts of Montgomery and Central Alabama was founded in 1974 and is a non-profit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service. (If you would like to make a donation, it's deductible!) This organization has a strong commitment to education, offering art and craft classes and sponsoring art and craft demonstrations to local schools and nursing homes and other organizations and clubs. SAC's Gallery Members of the Society of Arts & Crafts sponsors SAC's Gallery which was founded in 1979. SAC's is a non-profit, co-op gallery. COMPETITIONS AND EVENTS

Waterfront Show Info

The Society of Arts & Crafts sponsors several competitions and events during the year. In October, all area artists are invited to enter the Nell Hardeman Memorial Waterfront Show which is held in the South Trust Bank at Union Station on Water Street near the Alabama River. This is the beginning of the Society of Arts & Crafts' membership drive, as membership runs from October 1st through September 30th. This show is open to the public and remains on view for two weeks. Christmas Show Info and Application

The first weekend in December is the annual Christmas Show with over 150 booths of original art and craft. This show is held at the Montgomery Civic Center and is a membership show. It is very well attended and has been in existence for over 20 years. (Back to top of page)

January Competition Info

Then in January, SAC's Gallery hosts the January Competition for members of the Society of Arts & Crafts. This is a judged show with money awards and ribbons. (Back to top of page)

Classes - SAC's Student Art Show

Each July, SAC's Gallery hosts a show by students of instructors with the Society of Arts & Crafts. This show is a "ribbons only" show but allows these artists to have a show of their work in a gallery, and to have a reception with the public invited. The show remains up for two weeks. In conjunction with the Society of Arts & Crafts, SAC's offers classes to the public. The instructors vary throughout the year. (Back to top of page)
