Eve Perry earned an undergraduate degree
from Ohio State University and a Master's Degree from Auburn. She has
taught art on the kindergarten, high school and college levels, and
at the Armory Learning Art Center of Montgomery. She began studying
painting and design with Charles Shannon, painting in oils in the early
1970's. Later, she started working with clay and pottery, and then went
on to acrylics, which she continues to find especially challenging and
interesting to work with.
She has studied with Alvin Sella, Henry
Hensch, Wallace Bassford, and Robert Brackman of the Art Student's League
of New York City. Her personal style has been influenced by both impressionistic
and expressionistic styles. She is particularly drawn more to color
and light harmonies rather than to realism. Over the years, she has
exhibited in many juried shows, accumulating numerous ribbons and awards.
Her work is on display in SAC's Gallery and Gallery One in Montgomery.
